Teachers’ Mathematics Knowledge for Teaching Early Algebra: A Systematic Review from the MKT Perspective

The mathematical knowledge for teaching (MKT) model emerged from the advances proposed by Shulman in 1986 and 1987 as part of teacher’s professional model, refers to that teacher employs carry out instruction process classroom. MKT has become an international benchmark research into mathematics education boasts a great scope impact date. objective this study is conduct systematic review way which early algebra teachers been conceptualized empirically studied scientific literature 2010 2021. A search Web Science Scopus databases led 17 papers. results show conceptualization algebra, focusing mainly on primary specialized content. In turn, there predominance studies address functional thinking content area. We conclude more empirical are needed childhood have algebra.
